For those who have worked with us before, you’ll know that we’re based in Suffolk – Ipswich, to be precise.

As such, many of our lovely clients tend to be based in the Suffolk region. A recent client of ours was the Suffolk Building Society, who had a rebrand in various locations around Suffolk.

We wanted to show this work off as it depicts the various ways that signage can be used to advertise and decorate your business.

Internally

Often, signage is seen as only to be used for exterior posts.

Either as a sign to advertise you business, directions, or something else entirely. But in this instance, signage was used inside in a multitude of ways.

Two examples we’re providing is the Colour Reflection sign, this depicts part of the brand methodology and colours behind the company. While it may seem like a decorative choice as opposed to intentional one, signs explaining the concept behind the business adds legitimacy as well as thought to the way in which you process your business.

Your brand image is for everyone to understand, not just the owner or employees. But displaying this for all to see, then you’re welcoming people into the brand itself.

Another example is the business mantra that is displayed here.

It depicts the Building Society’s motto and the ethos that they represent.

When building a brand or business having an ethos to matches your actions and values with helps to develop a level of trust with your clients.

Externally

One of the most typical signs we can expect to create for businesses is the main shop sign – which is a huge honour. It’s the first thing you’ll see when you walk into the building, so its fundamental to get it.

When the Suffolk Building Society rebranded, we worked with them to ensure that their new design was in the keeping of their expectations. They spoke with our designer and we helped create a design that would be fresh, but also, on-brand.

To draw in those who are on-foot, the building society also ordered convex plastic boards. These enabled the society to advertise themselves to people walking along the street, it allows others to take notice of their business without doing much advertising.
